Learn Piano
From Linda Anthony

Who I Am

I am Linda Anthony with 50 years of experience in teaching piano lessons in the north, north west Houston area.

I have had a passion for teaching piano lessons since the 7th grade. Many of my students have been with me 10-13 years and some have gone on to major and minor in music on the university level.

What I Do

I work with Children and Adults: Beginners through Advanced and Teachers

Types of Lessons:

Private Lessons allow students to perform music they enjoy while developing skills in performance, phrasing, technique, memorization, sight-reading, transposition, theory, and original composition.

Group Lessons focus on ear training, harmonization, music theory, music history, and improvisation. Students have fun playing games and doing activities that reinforce the musical concepts.

How to Get Started – Call Ms Linda @ 281-221-0385

Step 1: The Interview

Students are interviewed before lessons are scheduled for appropriate placement in repertoire for the private lesson and, if in K-12, for appropriate placement in a group lesson. The Interview is $30.

Step 2: Registration

Students sign a Studio Agreement and Registration Form listing the registration fee, tuition, holidays, make-up policy, and home practice schedule.  Students can enroll anytime during the year.

Why take Piano lessons

Why Take Piano Lessons K-12?

This list of reasons was compiled by students in one of the group lessons: Robert A., Cheryl B., Carolyn D., Erin F., Tara M., Angela P., and Amy R.

  • It is fun.
  • It looks good on college applications because colleges want students who are well-rounded. (Medical schools readily accept musician major applicants because of their discipline level and dexterity level.)

Why Take Piano Lessons as an Adult?

  • Piano lessons provide emotional release in a stress filled world.
  • Research is conclusive: Piano lessons help keep the mind sharp and active to combat both physical and mental aging.
  • Playing by ear limits you to playing only what you have heard. Learn how to sight- read so that your repertoire expands.
