Why Ms Linda?
Goals
Students need achievable goals along with encouragement to develop their love of music and musical skills. With my experience in working with students of all ages, I am able to give them the personal guidance they need to be successful.
The Musicianship Skill Levels from Mid Level I through Level VI
give continuous goals for both children and adult students throughout their study.
The Outstanding Studio Musicianship Award is an annual award for all students in K-12. It covers 9 categories with awards of ribbon, medal (bronze, silver or gold) and trophy depending on how many categories the student completes. The categories are Performance, Memory, Theory, Fall Practice, Spring Practice, Technique, Attendance, Music History, and Original Composition.
K-12
Performance Opportunities for Students in the Studio:
1. Parents are invited to Group Lesson recitals in October and December.
2. The year-end recital in May is met with great anticipation. All of the students in K-12 notate their own original composition based on the theme for the school year.
Themes have included “When You Wish Upon a Star” and Walt Disney, “Once Upon a Time” based on the Grimm brothers and fairy tales, “Pegweg” – a delightful short story by Glenn W. Anthony, “The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe”, “Bach and the Palace”, “Cabin in the Pines” honoring the composer of each student’s choice, and “Inspired by Love Fulfilled”— honoring Robert and Clara Schumann.
One year-end recital of original compositions was called “Keys to Creativity”. The program cover art work, entitled Harpsichord and Piano, was an Acrylc on Canvas by Glenn W. Anthony. He was the First Place Winner in the 1985 Cover Contest for the Music Teachers National Association and the art work was the front cover for the April-May issue that year of the Association’s official journal.
